So my 2000 GMC Yukon Denali has the moments of crank, no start then cuts off. One of the codes I had earlier today while trying to start my truck to get to work, it spat out the P1626 code. According to the BlueDriver OBD Scanner, it’s code definition is “Loss of Serial Communication with Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD). So I tore just about my entire dashboard apart to look at all of the wiring, checked out fine. Removed the steering wheel column covers, all the connections were solid. Start my truck, does the crank, start then shuts off. The security light on my dash was staying solid this time. Keep in mind I was rushing around to get to work on time. Something new to me, and with me being used to my truck doing that and seeing the security light on my dashboard blink I would just wait 11 minutes or so to get into bypass mode. Anyway when I get some, decided to do the relearn procedure and finally got my truck started.
Now the code I have once again is the B2960, according to the BlueDriver OBD says: Sec Sys Senor Data Incorrect but Valid. The top two reported fixes would be Replace the Passlock Sensor or replace the ignition lock cylinder. Would would be the better long term solution?
