Hello,
Trying to figure out the real effects of brake torquing…both on standard and auto trans (I know more about auto trans than I do standards, so I’ll be using an auto trans as a reference).
My auto trans teacher said brake torquing can rip through clutch packs because the clutches will spin on one another rather than staying compressed. It never really made sense, because all of the trannies we did in class, the clatch packs were splined to the outermost-part of the annulus/sun gear.
If it’s splined…how can it spin?
