What would happen to the output of an A/C Generator if one of the stator windings has an open ?

It’s been awhile since school, but I’ll give it a shot….

I believe an open in one of the winding’s would knock out one phase out of the 3 phase output.

Thank you for your response. I did some more research. A source says that an open stator winding will:

1) Prevent the A/C Generator from functioning.

2) If it does function inspite of it the output will be reduced.
