Hi guys and gals, new member and was recommended from a friend. Got some symptoms I hope you can help me diagnose.
2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, Just replaced my lower intake manifold gaskets and my upper intake manifold. I put everything back in and then refilled my coolant and burped the system.
My new issue is when I drive to work in the morning about 10-15 mins in my car starts whistling like a tea kettle below 1500 RPM. When I get above 1500 it seems to disappear (It could be drowned out my the engine revving). Also when I turn the car off the whistle sputters out.
I took it to autozone so the guys could help me figure it out. They seem to think it’s my power steering pump. The wheel moves in and out a bit. He also said that my water pump is close to needing to be replaced.
My car steers normal, although when I turn the wheel it makes a whiiiiiierrrr noise.
Thoughts? Just started doing my own mechanic work and I’m really enjoying it. Would appreciate any help or thoughts.
Thanks!
