Tahoe won’t shift out of gear

I have a 2005 Chevy Tahoe v8 4wd that won’t shift out of park when I try it makes a grinding sound I’m hopeing its not the worse (transmission gone) I heard a bad shift interlock solenoid could cause the problem what do you guys think?
