Eric,
As a hobby I’ve been swapping engines for the past 5 or so years. There are a few brands I won’t touch but I’m otherwise make agnostic. At the moment, I’ve got two completely custom “first-one” swaps under my belt. I enjoy documenting the experience and sharing the information at no cost to others on YouTube and forums.
There is one bucket-list swap that I wanted to run by you; Northstar 4.6 and trans in a big body Camry or Camry badge car (ES300?). I’ve been out to the pull-a-part with a tape measure and it looks promising. Both the vehicle and the power plant are plentiful. And GM and Toyota have had past dealings so that is a thing.
As someone who’s known the trial and tribulations of trying to get and keep people interested on the internet. What advice would you give? Do you think I can expect more haters than followers for such a project? How much of a personal time commitment was filming the Fairlane as opposed to ditching the filming process and being content with only wowing people at car shows?
Sorry for such a nebulous post, but perhaps its good for a talk. And of course, anyone else’s input would be welcomed. – Stay Dirty!
