      Hi everyone, and hi Eric!

This is my first post ever on this forum, I literally signed up 2 minutes ago. The reason for me coming to this forum is because I am experiencing some out of the ordinary passenger rear brake noise after installing all new pads and rotors on all 4 wheels on my 1994 Honda Accord.

Upon removing the old hardware, I did notice that the pads on the passenger rear were worn very oddly. They were evenly on both sides but both pads wore on on a slant. So the top end was less worn than the bottom. Two weekends ago I bought all new rotors, pads (metallic), and the metal pieces where the pads rides on. Upon initial driving, all the brakes were quiet. About 2 days after the install I started to develop a bad squeal, almost like the sound you get when your pads are worn out! During the install I siliconed the sliders up nicely and everything went together smoothly. But, to my dismay something seems amiss on the passenger rear. I was under the impression that a caliper is either bad or not.

Please note that NONE of the other brakes make any noise at all. Seems very odd that the problem child before the new hardware is again the problem child after new hardware install. I have talked to some people who say metallic pads will have more noise but only on 1 wheel?? Eric, maybe you can help me shed some light on what could be going wrong?

PS: A big thanks to Eric on replacing captive rotors video. It helped me immensely when I did the rotor/pad replacement!

Please also note that this noise ONLY occurs under very light braking, like when you’re coming to a redlight and are about to come to a complete stop and are really light on the pedal. Under heavy to medium braking, all brakes are quiet as can be.

Does the noise only come when you brake?

Yes and I actually did a test a bit ago and the noise is ACTUALLY coming from the front passenger side, NOT the rear. I figured this out by driving around for quite some time and pinpointing the noise as well as only engaging my ebrake lightly. When engaging the ebrake, no back brake noise could be heard. But to answer your question, yes it only occurs when braking lightly and only during light braking, not medium or heavy.

I am debating on whether or not to pull the pads tomorrow and apply somtehing such as Permatex Ceramic Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant (http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/permatex-ceramic-extreme-brake-parts-lubricant-8-oz-24125/16160018-P)
