I recently bought myself a 2000 Honda Civic after driving around a 91 for a few years. I like the car, but there are a few things that bother me. One of the wipers chatter and the drivers side sun visor is hard to put down. I saw some posts on a Mercedes Benz forum about WD-40ing it, but I fear it may stink up the visor. I am willing to give it a try regardless.

      Anyone have any insight?

Take it apart and put a dab of grease on the swivel joint. Then re install. Should only involve a few screws I would imagine.

Okay, so just take it apart from the ceiling. I may try that right now.

I’d use either vegetable oil or silicone based lubricant like you would use indoors on hinges and recliner jointes…

So I tried it, I think it worked! Though around the hinge area I got some oil. I’ll have to clean that up sometime.

Righteous. I’ll keep posted to see if condition comes back.
