sulfur smell under load and braking

1994 ford areostar 4.0 xlt, over 277k mi, 2nd trans, 2nd rear end well maintained.
A burning matches (sulfur) smell under regular acceleration and or heavy breaking,
I checked under hood and under van nothing is melted or scorched, no visible smoke inside or outside.
I smelled the vents and it does not appear to be coming from the vents, seals around
the doors and windows are good.
I am not sure how the smell is getting in but more concerned about stopping the smell from where it starts.
Any ideas?

Sulfur smell is usually a bad catalytic converter. Also do you have a check engine light? Might be a faulty O2 sensor.
