      Hi All,

I wanted to update on my previous post but I cant find it.

i got the manual for the SUB and the dimensions of the recommended box.

Attached is the extract from the manual.

do i really need to make the box the exact size according to the recommended measurements?

if I decide to use the exact measurements then do i need to extract (2* 3/4 inch) from D ?

      D – (2 * 3/4 inch) = to get the correct depth ??

where can i get the port ?

      Please advise.

The volume and port dimensions are the things most important. The box can be changed a little in each direction to fit where you need. As long as the internal volume is close, it will sound decent.

Any decent online car audio retailer probably sells a port “kit”. Which should have a length of tube and the piece for the end. Or go ghetto and just use ABS pipe. Or go the other way and make it slot ported, the lower velocities improve sound quality. Or at least that’s what they used to say.

If it was me id go to some car audio specialist and have them make a spec box for optimal sound quality unless you don’t really care and are just looking for some sound upgrades in which case I would just buy an already made ported box. 🙂

hi all, thanks for the advice.now the problem is that the TS-W309S4 model is not available at my reseller. So I am asking for TS-W311S4

someone give me an example how should I calculate the box dimensions..i don’t know whether the box volume specified (1.5 for ported) in the pioneer specs page includes the volume of the port or not

ps: the manual (pdf) for this model does not have diagrams for the box dimensions.

dunno if you got it done already but for real, go to a car audio shop and ask for a box with the same air displacement, they can tell by looking at your manual which box you need, i have had tons of boxes, most from audio shops, few homemade, and audio shop boxes, if made using good materials, will do you better than making one yourself, unless your going crazy with a custom fibreglass box thats formed to your car, big audio brands have their own boxes too, my MTX Sledgehammer enclosure was the best dam thing i ever had, every sub sounded good in it. they no longer sell the sledgehammer enclosures, but you can get ones that are similar from audio stores.
