Hi, I’m planning on changing my front struts on a Acura MDX 2003.

      My question is:
Do I need a impact wrench for this job?
If I do, What should be the recommended torque on the tool?
      I’ve seen there are 200, 350, 500, etc Foot*lb.

I found one on harbor freight for $50…It’s an electric impact wrench 220 foot*lb…I prefer an electric over air, I don’t have a garage so I don’t have the space for air tanks and compressors.

      regards

To take the fasteners out.You do need an impact.
I would get the 500 ft pound.

Ive never used one when doing struts before.

Now that you mention it, its probably alot easier.

Same as above, id go for the larger ft lb or you may end up with something stuck that its too weak to loosen.
