recently purchased an 08 civic Si and the clutch pedal feels very stiff and the point of engagement is high, the car shifts fine at all gears and the clutch does not have any slippage and the master cylinder reservoir fluid is full; according to the previous owner the clutch and the master and slave cylinders were replaced recently; so how to go about diagnosing this problem ? i heard that it can be anything in the hydraulic system or it can be the pressure plate or even the flywheel

Your slave cylinder is external. You could have a friend press the clutch pedal while you observe the piston travel of said slave. One and a half inches or, perhaps, even up to two inches of travel should be sufficient. Look for it to fully extend and fully retract smoothly as the clutch pedal is engaged and disengaged. The throwout bearing itself could be sticking on its shaft. If your transmission has a service access plate in the bell housing, you could pull it and inspect where you can. That should be a good place to start looking for trouble.
