It’s me again and I have some new questions.

In the last two weeks my handbrake has problems to fully release.
One day while driving it started smelling like a burnt brake. I stopped and looked at my rear brakes. Then i saw that one side seemed to have heated up quite a lot because the brown rust turned red.

When releasing the handbrake after parking and then pulling it again it has quite a big dead play.
I really have to pull it hard with the button pressed and then slam it down for a couple of times to release it properly. I had a look at the springs on the rear calipers but everything looks ok. What else can I do? Is there any way to grease the handbrake cable?!

Thats one of my problems… 🙁

The other one is that I used to have a shaky steering wheel while braking with my old tires.
Then I changed tires and everything was ok for a couple of months. Shortly before changing back to winter tires it started to get shaky again.
No problems with winter tires though.
Now a couple of months after i changed back to summer tires (I changed tires from front to back) it starts getting shaky again.
Why was there no problem with the winter tires? What can cause these problems?

Doesn’t get boring with this car. No big problems but it makes me stay dirty banana:
I’m very grateful for any kind of advice.

pull the hand brake and see if each rear brake cable moves.
you may need to spray the parking assembly at each caliper.
As for the shaking. If the shaking went away when the winter
tires were put on. Then either the wheels are out of balance or
the tires have issues. If the shaking happens without touching the
brakes. Then wheels. If the shaking happens with brakes applied rotors.

the last time i checked my brakes i lubricated the parking brake assembly on the caliper.
          but i’ll doublecheck on that.

the thing that confuses me about the front brakes is that the shaking always came after a few months.
in the beginning there was no shaking.

i think that the tires might wear somewhat unevenly.
is it possible that i need to check if my track is set correctly?

as i said. no problems with winter tires on other rims.
but also no problems with summer tires for 3-4 months. after that it started shaking.

          strange.
