Is it a groaning noise? Is there frothing in the power steering fluid reservoir?

If so, This is a common issue on Hondas/Acuras…

The O-ring on the Steering pump starts allowing air into the system… A simple dollar something O- Ring fixes this problem…

        Easy fix.. Watch this video…

It’s the pump trying to provide fluid at lock, nothing to worry about. Every car I’ve driven, including my parents 2011 CTS, has that noise. Basically the power steering pump is trying to move the wheels more only bad part about this is the fluid mightget hotter than usual.

There are different types of noises that happen under the conditions you describe. A video of the noise might be helpful.

It may be normal as pointed out. When you turn the wheel full lock it is common to hear some noise from the power steering system as it is a full pressure at that point. However if the noise happens when you’re not a full lock it could indicate a problem with the power steering system. More info on noises here.

Good luck and keep us posted.
