2003 Ford Escape
An issue before I recently changed my break booster is a clicking sound from the steering column as soon as the brake pedal is tapped (only on first contact), I do still need to bleed the brakes but the clicking was present before the brake booster was replaced. I think it is brake switch related. I will try and get a video to post.
PS – I am still working on finding my idle issue, it will not stop snowing here in Philadelphia and my escape is on the street. Trying to stay dirty, not wet.

You may be hearing the shift lock solenoid clicking.
Put your hand where the shifter/console and press the
brake. see if you feel the click.Without hearing the noise we can only speculate. You might want to get down in there to see if you can isolate where the noise is coming from. More information in this article on finding the source of a noise.
