      With steel braid brake lines is it possible to clamp the line with hose padded long nose vice grips, as in your videos? Haven’t been around this type of product for a long time; as best as I remember they use heavy teflon tubing that isn’t as squeezable as regular re-enforced rubber brake hoses.

      Tx…

      Also – a reminder – need to be DOT approved to be street legal as I understand. The traffic cop isn’t gonna look, but if you get in an accident the investigator might.

        I know this question was addressed to Eric, but…

        I wouldn’t recommend clamping off steel-braided brake lines. When steel-braided hosing is clamped (crushed), it often produces sharp “whiskers” that can easily penetrate softer underlying material.

          +1 on that. Very good advice. Definitely do not clamp.
