I’ve been noticing that when I try to start my car when the AC button is on the car doesn’t start right away unless I turn off the AC. then it starts up Normal its acts like this if I leave the AC indicator on when I shut off the engine. Then when I go to start it up again leaving the air on it has a hard time starting. Tell I shut off the Auto Ac button

The problem may be the extra load on the engine while trying to start
        with the ac on.

Sounds like there may be an issue with the AC or possibly with the idle circuit on your engine. Start with any check engine lights you might have and work it from there. More information on solving problems like this can be found here.

Once you go through those steps you’ll have a better idea of what you’re up against.

Don’t know many details about your car but I have seen anti theft systems that were connected to the A/C switch. Just a thought.

there’s no check engine lights but the idle control circuit ? you mean like a IACV does my car have one of those? its a 2003 Honda Accord EXV6 Sedan. Like I said it only seems to happen when the Auto Ac button is on. At first I though the AC was putting a extra load on the engine which I know it can. But wouldn’t the starter be low on cranking power. cause I haven’t noticed that at all when starting. I know in the Factory Service manual it says that if the fans are on when the key is the ignition. engine not running. It states that the Compressor clutch relay could be faulty

is it possible that the compressor clutch could be engaged when I turn the key to the start position. with the AC button on. Causing the engine to have drag?

I believe the compressor won’t engage until the engine starts running. You should be able to start it with the AC on just fine. As for the idle circuit, this article has more detailed information on that.

Perhaps the information in there will be useful. Keep us posted.
