Starter is an electric motor. Electric motor are made whit coated resin copper wire to create and electromagnet. The resins use are not heat proof. So if your starter is near to a heat source, you will need to change the starter often. If the starter is not seal correctly, dust par can damage the moving part and creating more heat whit friction. And another thing, if the gear on the starter did not retract, you will have a fail starter too.

You might call the Bosh customer auto part service to know why the starter seize up when It’s became warmer after a car ride and eventually burn.

You may want to try ac delco. is the solenoid seizing
of the whole starter? any shims missing?

Im trying a different brand starter 2morrow i got a friend to start the truck while i watched the starter and it wiggles quit a bit while the engine is cranked i noticed that the starter bolt holes have a little play in them they are not snug like they should be through the starter bolt holes even when i tighten them up pretty good the starter still wiggles while the engine is cranked and it ended up braking one bolt and bent the other one lucky for me i got the broken bolt out with no trouble…i went to gm and got the proper starter bolts and there is still play through the starter bolt holes..maybe it is a bosch manufacture problem

the loose starter is not a good thing.

Starter wiggling even when you have tightened the bolts?

To me it smells like one or more missing shims!

Or also in some cars (like my Punto) there is a backplate that gets assembled between the engine block and the starter, and it’s quite thick.

If you look in Eric’s starter videos there could be some interesting thing about correct starter shimming.

I doubt the starters are your problem. The likelihood that you’ve gotten that many starters that are bad is very slight. That said, you need to do some diagnosis. Perhaps you have a problem with your ignition switch or neutral safety switch. Use this video to help you find the cause.

my problem is not the switch, that all works fine its when i get a friend to turn the engine over i lay underneath and watch the starter, it wiggles lots while the engine is crank , im now on starter number 6, and this one will burn too cause its still not right, this time i used a different brand starter, this starter is an original rebuilt one from gm, i just bought this truck from a family member and he had no problems with it, when i replaced the first starter it did not have any shims on it, im gonna try to install a shim and see if that works, maybe there is a fly wheel problem, but i inspected that already, i have been fixing cars for 14 years now and run my own business, ive never seen anything like this before,i guess thats why they say you always learning something new everyday in this kind of trade…thanks for the help…i appreciate it..and this is a great website

one thing on these years chevys that can change timing intermittant and cause a binding hard start sometimes and not throw a code is the crank sensor,I have 2 chevy 5.7 and 2 4.3 chevys that became hard starting, the sensors corrected the problem.took me a bunch of diagnostic time to figure it out.
There is a tech bulletin in shimming the sensor ,they get loose and back out of the bore or worse they rub against the crank sensor wheel. napa# MPE CSS212SB should do the trick.
sorry for the long winded post hope this works for you.
