Hello everyone!
I’ll jump straight to the point:
My grandmother gave me her old 1991 Chevy, which has high mileage (222500), and is gas-fueled. This morning I filled the tank and immediately noticed that the suburban was roughly jerking forward for the first mile or two. As I continued down the road, it stalled. I sat and waited for about five minutes before trying to start it again, and it did start, but it still awkwardly propelled itself like an epileptic rolling down a hill at a low angle during a fireworks show. Yet after driving another 10 or so miles, the ride became much smoother. I spoke to my grandmother and she claimed it was “bad gas”, and I’m not certain what to make of it. I called my uncle who owned the suburban before my grandmother. He told that this was a common problem that he never got around to inspecting it as it wasn’t so severe a problem when he possessed it.tl;dr: My high-miled Chevy is lurching forward and stalling after I put gas in it.
I’d like to wrap this up by stating that I know very little about auto repair and that I joined this site to learn, so please take it easy. I’m new.
Cheers!
