My friend has an SR20DET engine, it ran fine for the past few weeks. But now it fires and idles fine but the main relay buzzes like mad!!! When you apply the throttle it just misfires, splutters and does not want to rev at all. The fuel pump works and the fuel pressure is constant. The air flow sensor has been replaced as well as the main relay but it still buzzes and still doesn’t want to rev????? Help is needed!!!!!!

If you put the old main relay in does it buzz or the symptoms are the same?
You may want to check power to the main relay.

Yes if you put the old relay in it still buzzes and the symptoms are the same, although we never checked the fuel pump when the old main relay was in.
I believe the fuel pump relay will only work once the main relay is energized, if the main relay didn’t work then the fuel pump wouldn’t either.

Buzzing probably means arcing, either inside the relay, or at the terminals under it. Is the relay box melting underneath the relay? Might need to clean the connections and possibly receipt or solder the wires connecting to the relay receptacle. Check for high resistance on the relay, or measurable voltage drop on either side of the relay in the circuit.
If none of this checks out, the control voltage to the relay might be weak or intermittent, causing it to switch on and off quickly. Might still do a wiring issue.

Agreed. Relays will buzz if they don’t get the full control voltage they need
