Does anyone know what would cause this noise? This started happening after I had the wheel bearing and axle changed. This noise only happens when I start to brake in the morning or night when the car is still cold. It’s really loud and it gets even louder when it’s raining. The noise eventually goes away after driving for about an hour.

      Any help would be appreciated.

videos dont work for me either…

did they repalce the pads at the same time? is it only on the side that got fixed or both sides?

the wagner ceramic pads i have on my s10 grab and squeak bad if its the first drive in the cold or has condensation on them. usually 1or 2 stops and it goes away.

they could have got grease on the rotor and didnt know it…

Sorry about that. Not sure why they didn’t work. I updated the videos.

The pads were replaced also. The sound is only coming from the drivers side. It’s not coming from the brake pads though because this sound was occurring before the pad were replaced. The mechanic replaced the axle again yesterday and the noise has not gone away.

somethign rubbing somethign thats rotating, take the wheel off and see if anything is rubbing the inside of the rim like caliper edge or something. ive had on my car the steel rim rusted at the spotweld and buldged it out just enough (less than 1/4″) and was hitting the corner of the caliper – made a thudding noise as i braked hard but on an aluminum rim i can see how it could squeak.

hit any potholes or curbs that could have bent the rim?

There was nothing hit or ran over. This started happening after changing out the wheel bearing and axle. I would say the sound is more like a rusty bed. I would say that it was the shocks and struts, but those were also replaced. If it was metal rubbing, I would assume that the sound would sound more like a scraping and increase in volume due to the expansion that would occur because of the heat. It would not go away and keep occurring throughout the day.

My best guess is that it’s something rubber related, because it occurs when it’s cold or raining and goes away once everything is warmed up after driving a little while. I think the only relation to the brakes is because it probably causes the front end to move up and down (or back and forth) as I start pressing down on the brake.
