Yesterday,I was working in the hood, made a mistake of unscrewing one of two bolt that was pressured. The car was off cooled off. But I got spray in the face w/ something. (either ant-freeze or air-conditions). I know stupid me. But can someone tell what I unscrewed, I’ve been sick as a dog all day. Not sure what I spray myself with.

Did whatever sprayed you in the face feel really cold or just room temperature?

My mom’s car was broken down about hour from my house on the road. It was sitting for about an day. This bolt was behind the engine, it was high pressure hit my face it wasn’t liquid but stream. No I can’t take a picture. I’ve been throw up & bad head since. I wondering if I should go to the doctor. Any suggest would be great. I know stupid me.

As a tech, I have had Antifreeze blast me on the hand, face and mouth at some point or another, R12 and R134 freeze my hand as well.

There should be very few chemicals that are pressurized on a cold gasoline driven engine. If it is a fuel injection engine it could be gas, but you know what that smells like… The A/C system seems like the most likely culprit.

What is the the Year Make and Model of the vehicle?

Sounds like you MAY have released some freon from the air conditioning system. If you are that ill you might wabnt to go to one of those Express Medical facilities if you have any in your area. They are plentiful here in wilmington Delaware. You could say you were directly exposed to freon from an automotive air conditioning system. Knowing the type of freon would be helpful too. The type varies depending on the car. Most recent commonly used freon is R134A. If the car is real old it could be R12.

I still think it was freon you were exposed to. if the car sat for a day there is almost no chance for the anti freeze/coolant to be under pressure.

Yes, it was next the firewall in the back of the engine, the left side of the engine.
Behind the silver thing on top of the engine in the back..

I concur with sunset… The only things under pressure in this car are:

                              Antifreeze (Only when hot)

Brake Fluid (when under certain conditions)

Fuel (if you open a fuel injected line that is under pressure)

                              Freon (R134 in this case)

The area you are describing is where most lines run toward the evaporator (part of the AC system)…

I would guess you got a blast of R134…

Perhaps you should take an automotive basics course at a local community college, or ask someone who has some automotive knowledge to educate you a bit.

Where you were looking/working was no where near the water pump.

You managed to hit the one and only area that could hurt you like this, the Air Conditioning System… Most likely a pressure line that holds the accumulator/dryer or the line for the orifice tube…

I am not trying to sound like a jerk, but please get some education or take your car to someone who knows..for your safety and your child’s… You were not even close to where you should have been working for a water pump…
