spigot bearing NEED HELP ASAP

im fitting a celica 5 speed to my escort it was put in a escort befor and has a adapted bell housing i can get a clutch but the bearing that fits the input shaft and crank that i want to use for the spigot is only 5mm wide the
celica beaing is 10mm wide
and the escort one is nearly 15mm wide
i cant use eathier factory spigot bearing as there not the correct inner and outer diamiter

should i use one 5mm wide bearing or 2 or 3 next to each other

Yea, unfortunately once you cross in to the world of modifications like that you’re kinda on your own. If you could, keep us posted on what you find that works. I’m sure it would be good information for the database.

I am guessing you are referring to the pilot bearing. my advise would be to have a machine shop make one that is the correct size.

I built a forest rally car Escort mk1 Mexico in the early 90’s and the conversion in those days was to mate up a Siera 5 speed box which needed different bell housing and the input shaft machining down.

thanks for your advise guys the lectuer at the MTA (motor trade assosiation) said two of the 5mm bearing will work and i am aware of the siera 5 speed convertion but i got the celica box with the adaption stuff tail shaft crossmember etc for less but thanks for mentioning it
