Sparkplug wire removal and replacement.

Hi Friends,

Any advise to allow a sparkplug wire replacement Chevrolet pick-up V8 go as smooth and easy on the lower back as possible?

Just do one wire at a time to avoid confusion, and make sure they are they same size and length to save time…

if your doing the spark plugs make sure you put the same plugs back in as what came out! (Brand) i believe usually ac-delco works best with Chevy and gm products. when you put them back in don’t reef down on them they only need to be snug, and a little bit of anti-seize on the threads wouldn’t hurt ( i mean a very little). If your changing over your plug wires, usually they are marked for a cylinder, but like someone said do one at a time,and you should have no problems!

If you have the 5.4L Vortec get a long extension. It saves you from bending to much. Wobble extensions always helps to. Blow a little air around each plug before you take them out to prevent junk falling between the piston, and sleeve. This will cause scoring, and you don’t want that.

If you don’t have an air compressor, you can buy canned air for like 5 bucks. Just do a little cleaning before you start. Put the plugs in by hand to ensure you don’t cross thread, and don’t use the Wobble extension to put the plugs back in.

Like mentioned above. One plug at a time, and you will be golden.
