I have a 2007 f150 4×4 with a limited slip dif. I got a bolt in my tire while I was driving down the road so I put on my spare. Well my tire size is 275/55r20. But my spare tire size is 275/65r18. The difference in height is that the 18 is .2 inches taller. Will that make a difference to run that tire for a few hundred miles? I can’t afford a tire right now and need to wait for my paycheck. I have the spare put on in the back. With the limited slip.

The simple solution for the time being would be to put the spare on the front and move the 20 inch front to the rear.
Also stay out of 4X4 mode.

Anyone else got any ideas? I really don’t want to go through the work if I don’t have to.

Running RWD only , I would take a tire / wheel off the front & put it where the defective tire was & put the spare on the front .

Now , replace the defective tire ASAP & take the spare off the ground . Even if that closes down your beer / recration budget .

            Best of Luck . 🙂
