Hey Eric..I just watched the video on the Sonoma trans fluid change and it was very informative and well done as usual.

Now..I don’t want to sound like Ur MoM and maybe I’m just a jerk but you had that truck on axle stands without blocking the rear wheels. I have seen cars slide on those stands.

Only last week I heard a news report on a car falling on someone here in their driveway. I really hate the sight of blood especially yours on video. I don’t want to be rude but I just care.

If you won’t practice safety for yourself do it for your viewers….PLEASE! 🙁

In a way you could call this the final chapter of the Sonoma engine series. I thought it would make a good video on it’s own outside of the engine series.

I understand you concerns but I did set the parking brake. That said, I have no intention of teaching bad habits or dropping a vehicle on my head. Thanks for your input.

Eric that hand pump you used to refill the transmission with, did you make that or buy it? I’m looking to make one but what can I use? Any ideas?

I learned that one almost the hard way once. Had a minivan in for timing belt work, set the parking brake (did not know it was bad) and skipped setting chocks. Jacked front up, put it on jack stands, went in to order parts and get a pack of smokes. Came back out and the van was on all fours again.

After that stunt I use wheel chocks whenever I jack a wheel up, even if just to change a tire.
