      Hey Guys,

My Dad has a 2011 Mitsubishi RVR. He uses Mobil 1 0w-40, the manufacturer suggest 0w-20.

What effects may the 0w-40 oil have on the engine, beside affecting fuel economy?

We live in Canada, winter temperatures are usually around -4 Fahrenheit, but do sometimes drop to -22 Fahrenheit.

      Thank you,
      Gene

I always believe to run the right viscosity oil that the vehicle manufacturer calls for. The way they come up with the viscosity for the engine has a lot to do with bearing clearances inside the engine.

I always run Mobil-1 5W30 in my truck in temps anywhere from 100 degrees in the summer to -30 in the winter, never had a problem with pressure.

        Just my two cents
