Hey guys. Looking for a cheap way out of socket rails here. I need them for more “specialty” bits as i store my sockets on hansen rails. Here’s what i got:

      (6) 3/8″Allen SAE /4.25″ Rail
      (5) 3/8″ Torx, (6) 1/4″ Torx /6.5″ Rail
      (3) 1/2″ Allen Metric, (7) 3/8″ Allen Metric /8″ Rail
      (13) 3/8″ Metric Wobble Sockets /14″ Rail

      (31) 3/8″ clips
      (6) 1/4″ clips
      (3) 1/2″ clips

The rail lengths are what the sockets come in at all touching each other on a bench top. I know there are no 4.25″ rails so that would have to probably go on a 6 or 8, etc. I’m thinking i’ll need (3) 8″ rails and (1) 15″ rails. I don’t know the cheapest way to go about sourcing them nor do i know which manufacturer would have the broadest selection while saving on shipping. Thanks in advance!

harber frieght has some cheap ones… what people use is like a 1×1 and cut it up to make a handle sometimes I have seen them use selve hands on them but you can use u brakets or nails to make it easye to grab… the 1x1x10 feet is like $2 and the rails are like $1 a piece sometimes on sale I have seen them for .50

Get old metal spring type. Cut it to length and use the drive sizes you want. Use a bolt at the ends to prevent from sliding all the way off. Harbor Freight has them

            That is the cheapest way.

I like the ernst rails and own a 13 inch “tekton” 3/8 driveone (made by ernst). I just wish they came in more sizes. I also have 4 gear wrench 11 inch 1/4″ drive ones but I’d bed the clips and a larger size for my wobble sockets. My tekton rail would then be useless until I buy a set of something else. Tool dilemmas
