just bought a mt2500 last night and it worked on obd1, but when I tried obd11 the scanner read “incorrect u15 revision level, u15 should be gci 2.0 or later”. does this have to do with the keys as it came with none. the cartridges go up to year 2000 for both domestic and Asian. thanks for any help you can give me.

The programming chips that someone put in the cartridges are probably not matched correctly. You cannot use it with OBD II without the proper key for the vehicle you have. You must have got a great deal on it.

not bad. they were asking $350, par for the course as far as ebay goes. I offered $250 and he accepted. I cant find the list of what keys I need online. I have several cars I work on and I plan on doing side jobs. I need a key for the make of the car? I never have understood how the keys work.
