I just had 4 new tires installed on my 1995 Ford Ranger at Wal-Mart. The stock size for my truck is P225/70R14 which is what I had on the truck before. This time I went with P195/70R14 since they were cheaper and to be honest I don’t know how much longer the old girl is going to hold up in the first place.
Every tire site I’ve gone to including the Wal-Mart site shows that my Ranger fits both sizes of tires, but the tire guy at Wal-Mart tried to say it would only fit the P225/70R14. I told him to just go ahead and install the set of P195/70R14 so he did. The truck rides nice and smooth, but did I make a mistake? If I did, why does it show that both tire sizes are correct for my Ranger?
