      Hey guys,

Regular visitors of ETCG forum might remember that I said I was looking for an SUV. I ended up buying a 2005 Kia Sorento equipped with a 2.4ltr (G4JS) engine. First issue I noticed was an engine oil consumption over 1litre every 1000KMs that too with 20W-50 oil. After so many research I thought of using Valvoline MaxLife 10W-40 (only grade I could find) and guess what the oil consumption is completely gone. I drove over 1000KMs and not a single drop is gone. I also drove up and down of a steep hill with some engine braking too. I hope this might help someone else too who is suffering from the same. 😉

Was it leaking at all or was it going out the tail pipe?

There was absolutely no leak on the outside. Neither did I see any smoke coming out of the exhaust. But while replacing the spark plug the number 4 cylinder spark plug was black and a bit gooey. So, that cylinder should be where the oil was getting burned.
