Single loud popping sound during hard turns

Hello,

I drive 2006 Hyundai Sonata. My car is making a loud popping sound from front driver side during sharp turns or when I hit a bump while turning.

The noise is more easily produced when there is a bump involved when turning. If I consciously drive more carefully and smooth, the popping noise is not easily reproduced. But, it still bothered me.

There is no noise when I am just turning the wheels on the ground and the wheel has no play when I lifted it on a jack and try to wiggle it around.

So far, I’ve replaced struts/mounts(struts were squeaking and initially thought mount was making popping noise at the shop), front stabilizer links, and front driver side ball joint.

I would be doing a good visual inspection on your motor mounts too.

+1 on the above posts but I’d like to add that if you have replaced those items and the problem is still there it might be time to find someone with a chassis ear to nail down where the noise is coming from before you replace anymore parts, I’ve had thing
