First of all shout out to Eric. I still can’t find anyone online or in the automotive realm that can teach as well as you. I am amazed by the way you keep me on the edge of my seat with new information after 2 years of watching your videos.

Back to business. I noticed that there can be a lot of nuts, bolts, and other parts associated with repairs. When things go missing you lose your mind. Here is what I have done and it makes any repair very simple. I have built a rectangular box with over 40 slots. I number each slot from 1 – 40. As I take things off I put them into the next open slot with the tool that I used to remove it. When it’s time for reassembly its simply the reverse order. You start at the last slot and work forward. It’s amazing because everything is organized and nothing can go missing. Plus you can move the components to another location without fear of anything going wrong.

P.S You don’t have to rely as heavily on your memory.

The box sounds like a good idea. I use a bench and a magnetic tray, but then I lose bench space as I lay things out in a visual pattern. And it’s easy to bump something when I try to multipurpose the same bench space. I know that professionals will use the car itself, or the space under the car so that things don’t get mixed up with other vehicle parts.

It seems, no matter how much space you have you don’t have enough. Please post a photo of your tray — it would have to be pretty large to hold most of the parts I take off….
