Eric always uses silicone paste on things like caliper slide pins, and in the latest video he says that grease on calipers is a “no-no”, but what about specific high-temp brake grease? The factory service manuals for my cars all say to use high-temp brake grease for lubing brake parts, they don’t mention silicone paste.

I appreciate the reply, but that thread is not very helpful because it barely mentions specific high-temp brake grease.

This is what I use http://www.permatex.com/products-2/product-categories/lubricants/specialty-lubricants-brakes/permatex-ceramic-extreme-brake-parts-lubricant-detail
The thing is with brake grease is not to go crazy using the stuff. Seen where people glob it on and its getting on the friction surface, running out of the boots on pins, etc. Sparing is the key.

“in the latest video he says that grease on calipers is a “no-no”
I believe he is referring to standard type grease(s) used in ball joints and such applications.

“but what about specific high-temp brake grease?”
              Read above….

Unless you plan on driving your car as shown below..
I think for the average driver silicone paste will work just fine.

You know im a spraypainter and I get paint reps coming around trying to sell all types of paint materials.
I know the basics the mixing ratio and the precaution of dangerous materials.
Now the tech details on how the product is made I wouldn’t no.
Paint rep says this paint is like this and that.
I tried it there way if it works well and lasts long I use it and I let people know.
I believe it would be the same with Eric.
Like the old saying nothing better them word of mouth that’s how business grows.
