      Hello everyone,
I have the brake lamp light, in the dash cluster, that goes on once in while. I fixed it temporarily by removing the plug to the brown sensor box in the driver’s rear side and this fixed it for a short time.
Now the dash lamp goes on every day now after 15 minutes of driving and usually after pressing the brake pedal.
Every time now, when this happen, the right green turn signal indicator in the dash lights up but very dim, ONLY when I press the brake pedal. If I turn right and use the signal light, it works fine but when I press on the brake pedal, the signal indicator blinks really fast as if a bulb burned out. As soon as I let go of the brake pedal, the signal light work at normal speed again. Now just yesterday, my stereo just shut off. No fuse burned out but can’t seem to find out what is wrong.
Anyone has come across this problem? I would appreciate the fix or where to start looking for the problem.
I have look at the CB7tuner forums and haven’t found any definitive answer.
The car is 1990 Honda Accord LX, all stock.
      Thanks for any help.

I am guessing this is a 90 to 93 Honda Accord? Which model?

Few things you need to check. Fist make sure your brake fluid is full in the engine bay. As you brakes wear, the fluid level goes down over time. When your engine heats up, the fluid will expand and “fill” it up a little. If someone says that the light goes out after driving a while, thats most likely what is going on.

Next, need to check your left, right, and center light housings. The sockets will corrode over time. Was checking my light bulbs. They where good. Was not till I pulled them and checked the sockets, that I found the problem. You can just go to a junk yard and pull good parts to replace them. It seems easyer to just replace the whole unit, then to try and replace the sockets.

Here is a video that talks about it a little.

There are two brake indicators in the dash cluster. One is for the brake system and one for the brake lamps. The problem I have is for the brake lamps. These two indicators have no relation to each other. The bulbs are new and I check all sockets and no corrosion. I also replaced both of the rear outer light sensors, the black and brown box. I replaced the gaskets on both sides of the all 4 lights. So this is why I post the problem here to see if anyone else has a solution.

              Thanks.

If the car has the third brake light check the bulbs and connector.
Also check that all bulb illumination is bright. If one looks dull or
not as bright this will set the light. I believe the connectors run
                through the trunk.

Would check the cluster unit for corrosion. Does you dash light dimmer dial work fine?
