So about a year ago my a/c went out on my 05 mustang v6 with 96k from america and took it to a reliable shop that has done plenty of work for me before and always been good, and he said it was the evap, even showed me where and how it was leaking and it was leaking, replaced it 1100$

about a month later low freeon so took it back recharged it and replaced a valve that should of been replaced the first time. (no charge)

Then it was leaking again about 3 months later, i know because the compressor turns on and off about every 15 secs, so i took it back said he cant find a leak, about 2 days later heard the compressor cycling again said i dont need ac right now and didnt turn it on

Fast forward to now and took it to another shop and they said they also couldnt find a leak but it was low when it came in, recharged it and 20min done the road and it cycled again. charged me 300 to recharge it and it did nothing didnt even hold for 20 min

Both shops have used dye and sniffers and both are reliable, did work before me before and it was good.

so now since i have spent 1500$ dollars on this and both shops have said no leak, but clearly there is because if the compressor is cycling every 10 secs it is low on freeon and since it happened 20 min down the road id imagine its a decent sized leak.

so should i just go to ford? or try another shop or get all three of there opinions on what the problem is and then go from there if all 3 have a different answer im screwed and if 2 come up with the same answer then maybe its that.

I know ac is tricky but i dont wanna spend more then the car is worth and also do not want to go to ford and spend 2k and then it does the same thing an hour later

I would go back to the last shop if they are willing to waive the inspection fee. As they should, since the problem still exists and any charges associated with diagnosis should be theirs. Just verify that they are attempting to see if it’s the evaporator in the heater box. You wouldn’t be able to see dye without removing the core, but a sniffer should pick up leaking refrigerant out of the vents.
