So I was changing my oil, and noticed some oil crust at the valve cover gasket. I attatched pictures of the front and the back. What do you guys think should I change it? Bit of info, no oil loss noted on dipstick, 111,000 miles 2AZFE 4cyl 2004 Camry.

*EDIT: I am Having a hard time uploading the photos here

      I put them on flickr

I would change it. Use a Toyota gasket. 🙂

Definitely change it out, use good quality gasket ie FelPro.

I would change it but keep in mind that right now this is a very tiny leak and it should take sometime before this turns into a serious leak. But if you got the time, money, and know how, it’s worth changing. Just be glad it’s not a 6 cyl because I’ve wrestled with a few of those valve cover gaskets and the rear one is no picnic.

I’m not going with the flow. I wouldn’t change it yet unless you feel ambitious. It could go a long time without getting much worse.

That’s my thought as well…I don’t think I’ve ever owned a car that was completely clean around the valve cover. I would only mess with it if you notice oil loss or just want a weekend project
