Replace wiring harness because stupid mistake any buddy else have done dum thing to there bikes

well got a new harness found on pos and neg side 1 thin wiring missing on each one. was told I thing thats wrong because have it wired one side won’t work right while running but turn off it works right i’m talking about signal and 1 running light not lighting either way but other side works but running turns it flasher or warning flashers could this be a ground?
