I was curious what everyone is using for repair and diag software. I have always used alldata just because it’s what I always had available to me in the shops I have worked in. All I knew. With owning a shop I have been bombarded with calls from different companies wanting me to try their software(shop management software mainly). I have been using alldata and motologic in my shop. Anyone else have any others there like, hate? Also, any shop owners, managers, anyone that uses software for writing RO’s, what do you use and what do you think? I have used alldata manage online when I was running a shop but use shop boss pro with my shop. So far I like it, but has somethings I don’t like as much. The scheduling feature sucks.

I’ve had a little time with Mitchell’s On Demand software. They’re kinda like AntiData in that they try to integrate factory service info into their messy menu system. Mitchell does rewrite wiring diagrams into the uniform standard which has been nice because they’ll condense miles of track style diagrams into a lot less pages. Sometimes, it works against itself in that they’ve condensed so much info into so much less space, but I can usually appreciate those diagrams just the same. That and they’re not always complete. If you ever pull up a Subaru diagram on Mitchell, you might find the CKP sensor on the diagram without it telling you which one is reference, signal, and ground in the PCM. I can’t remember much about their shop management software except to say I hated their layout on their work orders and invoices in final print. I had trouble navigating that software mostly because it was so sporadically that I had to use it myself.
