It acts just like a bad nuetral switch. I have to move park shifter back and forth to get the truck to start. I followed the haynes book and replaced the switch. the book said to put shifter in nuetral and on the switch it self i placed a small drill bit in the hole and lined up the holes and tightened the switch it worked for a little while. This is not the first nuetral switch i tried. Thanks for your reply

You always set shifter linkage with it in Park. Be sure the transmission is in Park when you do the adjustment. Also **********Very Important******* make sure you chalk the wheels before you do work on the shift linkage. If not, you can pull it out of park and the vehicle will roll and you better not be under it when that happens.

I tried to adjust the n.s.s. in park and couldn’t get the small drill bit to align in the adjustment hole unless I’m still doing something wrong. I putt the shifter in nuetral and the holes lined up but is still not right. If I don’t line up the holes where to I adjust the n.s.s. sense it has movement from side to side? I didn’t stay under the truck this 100 heat index in louisville is rough on us older guys.
