shift Interlock solenoid?

hi everybody is normal for the gear selector shift interlock solenoid to go bad with out warning? was replacing some tail light bulbs with some LED one’s and now the car doesn’t shift out of park unless you press the shift interlock release switch on the console and the tail lights don’t work. The car is a 2000 Toyota Camry LE Sedan 2.2L any help appreciated.

Put the original lights back into the car. The interlock probably needs to see a voltage input from the brake lights before it will release the shifter.

Ok i will try that but I’ll have to get new bulbs since the old ones are burned out
