New guy to the forum here, ok so a few weeks ago I picked up a 06 base Acura rsx. After the test drive I noticed a small squeak coming from the serpintine belt area, no big deal I thought. I noticed that the sound is louder when the Ac engages, and the squeak is only noticeable when idling, and only after warm, after I drive for about 10-15 minutes. The next day I went to the dealer and bought an Acura belt, installed it and took it out for a drive and after the car was warmed up, and only then, the squeak was back. It doesn’t make a sounds when the engine is cold. I bought a different belt a Continental elite (used to be Goodyear gatorback) still squeaks. So I returned to the dealer and bought a tensioner, sound was still there! I tried spraying water on the belt and still the sound was there. Checked all the pulleys for play and found that the water pump had the slightest of play, changed that out, still hear a squeak! So I took it to a reputable mechanic, he had the car for 2 days, he couldn’t figure it out either. The two belts I’ve changed have both shown signs of ware on both edges, like it was rubbing on something,. All the pulleys look to be aligned. Any suggestions would be welcomed, thank you guys for the help. The car has 108k miles btw.

its probly one of the pullys… after the car runs for a bit the pully will start to brake up the dirt and greasing it self up… making the sound go away after a little bit….. you can do it like 3 ways take the belt off and spin each pully and see if it makes sounds… 2. oil up the bearings/shaft of each pully 3. use a spethiscope and see which one is making the noise probly the best way just becauful not to get the stuck in the pully…or rge belt

ones that are comman is ac chuch, power sterring, water pump, alternator… that would the highest to lowest odd’s from what I find… another one could be is the tencherner spring, but that will be hard to check

now ones that are not always on and can sound intermitaly is AC pully and cluch…. or alternator both will engale and disagage

thats how you will go about testing it… use a auto stethoscope you can pick one up at herberfrate for like $6 or any other autostore for about $10

I would store itt back in its packaging or store it on the wall… they brake easily

Could be your timing belt, listen around in that area. Heat up the engine, remove serp belt and temporarily run the engine, see if the squeak is there.

just dont run that test for long and keep an eye on the tempture… because most cars has the water pump on the serpitine belt and could cause the car to over heat… if you do it for a few seconds your be fine… just watch the temp gaudge

Update, took it to the local Acura dealer, they looked at it for about 10 minutes and told me the noise was coming from the transmission  service adviser told me I could change the fluid in the trans or I could just drive it till it breaks down, smh. A different shop looked at it too and they said the sound disappeared when they ran it without the belt, I’ve tried spraying water on the belt and it doesn’t change the sound
