Hello to all of you, technicians, mechanics, backyarders and enthusiasts. I wasn’t quite sure where to put this post so feel free to move it if I’m in the wrong.
Over the last week and a half or so I have been having issues with my own work. Not only does this affect my personal customers but also the other company I work for and their customers.
Over the last week and a bit I couldn’t work out why my work and working habits had changed, until a few minutes ago. I had realized all my self confidence and self-esteem had made a plumit because of someone else in my work place who has been bullying and abusing me about my work and how I go about doing my work. Yes, I will admit sometimes my work is a bit rough but hey if it gets the job done and doesnt damage anything or cause any issues what’s wrong with doing it that way.
Sadly enough I had started to believe what this lowlife had been telling me was true and stopped believing in my quality of work and my methods dragging me from being one of the best techs in the workshop to just an average tech.
Then I finally thought to myself why does this guys opinion matter to me ? He doesn’t work as hard or fast as I do.Before he started all this bullish*t I never had any issues with my quality of work and always worked around any issues or problems I had.My employer was always more than happy with my work. The only difference is that I had lost myself confidence and self esteem because I listened to the wrong person.
The moral of the story is if you don’t believe in yourself and believe your smart enough or great enough to do something you never will be able to. In saying that know your limits until you are confident enough in yourself to do the job. There are never any stupid questions there is nothing wrong with asking for help. Yeah some people might have a little giggle and pass you by but if you keep asking you will find help. Believe in yourself and don’t listen to those who can drag you down because it can significantly effect your work and your working ability and habits. Stay dirty ETCG fans!
