      To add to this, when I was in a high performance engine class, we used serpentine belts to lift fully dressed big blocks.

        in that video, I didn’t notice how he fastened the belt; just wrap it around whatever you’re lifting and tie a knot in it?_x000D_

          I have a friend of family died while lifting engine with things that he should’ve not have used.

            If you know your seatbelt is going to be pulled tight against a hard edge to sharp point on the engine, I’d stick a leather glove between the belt and the block to hopefully dispurse the stress in that area.
