SAABs are known for their reliability, but even my favourite swedish manufacturer made a few mistakes:
Engines:
9-3, 9-5 B205, B235 petrol engines:-Faulty PCV system, GM made a replacement kit
-Direct Ignition Coil, dies every ~100-150k km
-DV – recilculation valve, sometimes wears out and pulls out rich/lean mixture code
-Crankshaft Position Sensor, another common failure. When your SAAB starts easily when cold, but cranks without starting when hot its time to buy a new CPS 🙂9-3, 9-5 2,2 TiD D223L Diesel engine (a.k.a. Opel 2.2DTi):
-Fuel injection pump fails after ~200k KM, quite expensive to rebuild9-5 3.0TiD Isuzu 6DE1 (a.k.a. Opel 3.0CDTi, Renault 3.0dCi)
-This engine is a complete failure, cylinder sleves slide down. The only repair is to fit new cylinder sleves in the engine block
