Hello everybody I drive an 1991 civic hatch 1.6, my current issue is that my tachometer works upon start ups but after warm up it just stop working. Car doesn’t not stall. But when I rev the engine kind of high it works then it just stop working again at idle. So far I’ve checked the wire coming out of the distributor and it on there pretty tight I haven’t taken the dash apart yet to look at the wire on the back of the cluster. Any suggestions?

Check all your connections. What you could do is hook up a aftermarket
tach to see if the signal is good. If the tach does work then your tach
has a problem and will need replacement.

I don’t have an aftermarket tach and I don’t want to buy one. Will using a test light on the blue wire on the cluster plug work? I tried it when the cluster was working and the lights comes on and tried it again when the tach stopped working light doesn’t come on what does that mean? Am I testing the right wire?
