A while back I did a tuneup on nissan sentra. I changed spark plugs and pcv valve. Car had 100k at the time. After tuneup car seemed to run ok. Its my wifes car and i did not drive it that much. A while later when I drove the car on a trip, I noticed car would idle rough when in gear and at a stop. Also noticed the rpm dropping. I tried several things to fix the problem like doing the idle relearn. To make a long story short, I found an article somewhere that provided a clue. It said to only use the dealer pcv valve. This morning I changed it out with one I bought from Nissan and that was the fix. Autozone pcv 5 bucks. Nissan pcv 31 bucks. I compared the two- they looked identical- go figure.

These cars are picky with the parts. 🙂

I have found some things look identical but the dealer part that costs 5 times what it should work better. A lot of times you can get new OEM parts on eBay for a good deal.
