      Bleeding a transmission?????
That rates right up there with:
      Changing your flasher fluid
Connecting your Murphy Rod with a Finnegan Pin using a left handed sky hook
Running to the store to get a refill on 1/2″ holes

definitely up there. You always gotta be careful where you go. Bleeding atf is a first, coolant can be done by just leaving the rad cap open and having the car run for a while. Seems like a lot of money for a hack job tbh. Can you post pictures?

Thanks for your input so far, I did take a few photos that I meant to attach, here they are now. They’re not the best but room and light were a bit limited under there.

Reminds me of when I caught a shop pulling something similar lazy. I bought an Expedition that turned out had straight pipes replacing the catalytic converters. I paid a shop to put in cats. A few years later I was having some trouble with the SUV, and cats had worn out. That same shop was giving me a run around about an expensive repair I didn’t need, and so I tackled the second cat replacement myself. Besides saving myself $500, I found they cut an exhaust hanger instead of doing the hard work of getting it properly mounted. I admit it was a pain, I felt like I came in second in a heavy weight wrestling match when I was done, but I did it right. Sometimes small things like that is a sign of much bigger problems. Story is too long of the other problems they caused me.

Thanks for your thoughts guys, it all left a bit of a bad taste, and like Flintiron said it doesn’t necessarily bode well for the kind of work they do in general. The shop used to be family-run; they used to work on the local PD cars and we had had good luck with them overall. Since it changed owners I noticed the police cars are at another garage; maybe I should follow them over there.

Its not always easy to find a fair price, honest mechanic. I have a neighbor who has very reasonable prices, but his shop is always packed and small. I took my car into the dealer for warranty work but they said I needed a timing belt replacement soon, and I dont even have a timing belt engine
