….regarding brake calipers…I know Eric always recommends Silicone Gel for lubricating the slide pins….my local AutoZone has CRC Brake & Caliper Synthetic Grease….I don’t think it contains silicone….thoughts on this??

I have a can of the CRC stuff. It’s dark grey in color and seems like an anti-seize product. I’ve only used it to lubricate the pads, not the pins.

The MSDS for 3M silicone paste lists PDMS (a silicone) as it’s primary ingredient. The MSDS for the CRC product lists molybdenum, PTFE, graphite, and silica (not silicone).

I found the silicone paste at my local hardware store, and now have a 32-lifetime supply of both products.
