I put a little bit of silicone on the seals to make them go together easier. I believe I cover that in this video.

The angle is also important. You need to get them in there just right sometimes. I think the lubricant will help a lot however.

        Keep us posted.

Thanks very much both College Man and ETCG.
The 02 civic is the utility vehicle now. I want to clean it up and possibly sell it eventually.
But at 20 mpg like it was getting last sept before I started working on it, I’d have to list it as a mechanics special.
With your helpful suggestions and videos I think I’ll be able to get the injector back in and button up the top side so I can start on the underside part of the job….

The ERG plate in the 06 HCH was really simple in comparison. But it has other complicated issues … 🙂

I always have a small squeeze tube of Vasoline handy for things like that. Just bit a light film of it on the O rings and they’ll pop in easier. Silicone works great but not everyone has a big tub of it handy.

When I pried them out I pried gently and carefully but 2 injectors stuck in the base and popped off the rail anyway. That’s common for some injectors to stay in like that. They’re only held in by the ‘o’ rings and the fuel rail. The silicone will help. Just make sure you have things lined up correctly on ALL injectors before you seat the fuel rail.
